Important note as of 26/03/1999
This project is rather old and now is no longer in effect. More than that,
at the present time executable might not work as they reply on parsing
of the proprietarychat format at www.alamak.com
(btw, the owner is the sucker).
Anyway, project was rather fun and sorta successful for it's time.
This page was true at the time of writing (back at the end of 1997) and
might look stupid for those who had no idea of this chat. Anyway, have
fun.

Operating Requirements:
Please note that some of the kewl features requires you of being a FULL
OPERATOR, having a grant is not enough. This is checked via bot in real-time
and assures that only Op can do certain things. At the moment there is
NO such restrictions yet because bot is not feature rich so far, but it
will be in effect for certain commands for sure. Reason? Read specially
designed for it notes done by Alamak at http://www.alamak.com/
However even users (like I am at the moment) will find this tool a GREAT
help during chat, feel free to try it out.
Also most kewl features do require one you are say sending a sound
use a bot or most current version otherwise this person will not hear sounds
or won't see your pictures.
Download and run instructions:

Right click here and choose Save Link As... then
save this file somewhere to your disk. It's a 350kb. Note: If you have
used previous version of the bot -- delete all in that directory!

Use WinZip or pkunzip on file: ATWBOT.ZIP, to extract all stuff to your
directory.

RUN file: atwbot.exe (please note that copyright notice
you will see is NOT mine, just choose OK on it, this is gonna change in
week time or so).
Why should I use it?

auto-refreshable look (you can just leave for a while w/o fear to loose
track of talks)

can open separated private message window where you can just type what
you want (/msg nick will be added automaticly)

sometimes works faster then conventional browsers

can work trough user-defined set of proxy servers that let one hide it's
originated IP for wide range of reasons (that include good one too)

can send /sounds (like mIRC)

can send ascii art pictures (like mIRC)

can use advanced colors such as doing rainbow with just one command (say
in private messages)

and many more that you could faster to download it rather then read list
of features!
The following features are to be added ASAP:

customly set aliases

secure chat with real-time DES encription (US gov standard, lousy
but better then plaintext) to keep it really private (possibly different
encription engine for RSA/PGP public key cryptography).

Known bugs:
-
If logged out as user (not known for Ops) and trying to login with same
nick chat gives a error, this is _alamak's_ bug, not mine, because they
do not actually log out when using /quit command and prevent user from
coming in again for some uncertain time. Perhaps this is how they encourage
people to sign up as an Op.
Much more mine bugs exist in the bot, although i try to eliminate them
but this is not possible and i need your help. If you rigth click on main
board of the bot then you will see menu item called: Debugging, choosing
it enables and disabled debug thing that consists of simple writing of
inner system info in the file: debug.log that is in your bot's directory,
if you send it to me then i migth have better chance to find and eliminate
a bug. It doesn't save your passwords HOWEVER: debugging means that your
actual conversation will be saved to disk, this is UNSECURE and thus do
not use this feature for anything that should remain secret.
This is a message of peace to Alamak Staff:
I came with peace. And would prefer to keep peace as long as possible,
I have NO desire for wasteful wars. However I am more protected this time
that you might think of. I will NOT release special battle version with
features that may negatively affect Alamak chat unless you force me to
do so. I just want to chat nicely, and would love to see no attempts to
disable this bot. Besides it's not possible to disable it, it's a browser
itself, with full control over incoming HTML dataflow. All weak places
can
and will be patched by me ASAP. There is no major weakness in it like in
previous generation. I hope you will continue to be smart as you were.
